As a contemporary realist landscape painter I work to capture the serenity and excitement of being in nature.
My landscape art embodies a sense of time, place, light and space - a serene oneness with our natural spaces and wild places! I strive to paint the everyday beauty that we see in nature.
Art has been part of my life since I was 10 when I got my first paint box and I discovered the world of art in books at my local library. I have been painting for over 40 years with a focus on landscapes in acrylics, watercolour, graphite and charcoal. Creating landscape art, especially of the wild Algoma and Lake Superior region in Ontario, Canada is my passion.
After graduating college with honours in Advertising and Graphic Design I started my working life as a commercial artist, graphic designer and art director. Many new roles led me to a 35 year management career in marketing, promotion and advertising with a number of high profile companies. I also owned my own advertising and promotion agency in Toronto. I now paint full-time professionally in my home town of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, near places made famous by Canada’s Group of Seven artists who came here from 1918 -1922 to capture their vison of Canada in plein air and later in studio paintings, many that are now icons of Canadian art.
I conduct acrylic landscape painting workshops and give private or group lessons for beginners to experienced artists. I can also paint your personal landscape scenes on commission.
